Overview

Our tour will begin at 10:00 a.m., taking us from Tbilisi to the breathtaking snow-capped peak of Mount Kazbek, showcasing the charm of Georgia along the way. We’ll visit the enchanting Ananuri complex on the serene shores of Jinvali Lake, experience the beauty of mountain rivers and gorges, and find tranquility at the Gergeti Trinity Church, our final stop. From there, enjoy sweeping views of the village of Kazbegi and the majestic Mount Kazbek. The route follows the Georgian Military Highway, heading north toward the Russian border.

Our first stop is the historic Ananuri complex, a former residence of the Dukes of Argveti, with its stunning 16th-17th century churches and towers overlooking Jinvali Lake.

Continuing our drive, we’ll witness the rare sight of two differently colored mountain rivers merging while retaining their distinct colors. Crossing the scenic Cross Pass, we’ll pause at the Soviet-era “People’s Friendship” viewpoint to admire the deep Caucasus mountain gorge. Reaching 2,395 meters at the Cross Pass, we’ll view the yellow travertine mount, taste mineral water, and take in snowy peaks, waterfalls, and the iconic 14th-century Gergeti Holy Trinity Church in Stepantsminda. If the weather is clear, the magnificent Kazbegi glacier summit at 5,033 meters will come into view, offering breathtaking scenery of Mt. Kazbegi.
